My generation has grown up in an age where Wi-Fi and smartphones have pushed aside antiquated flip phones and dial-up Internet. Facebook, Twitter and email have filled a void unattainable by the local postal delivery person.
And in response to its audiences, we’ve seen journalism parallel this change. The “next day’s newspaper” model is now the 24-hour news cycle. Content is not only available at the local newsstand, but via web page or mobile app.
As someone who always enjoyed to write, I decided to channel my skills into journalism when I arrived at the University of Illinois. But as my skills developed, I realized this new media change. My collegiate and professional journalism experiences have cultivated my eye for connecting and interacting with people digitally, while remaining responsible to the interests of the audiences I serve.
This website provides a glimpse of my journey through digital media thus far; I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
