Student group demands coal plant disposal information

 

Summary: Students for Environmental Concerns, or SECS, continued its investigation of the disposal methods of coal ash by Abbott Power Plant after receiving redacted FOIA documents. The investigation of Abbott, which heats most campus buildings, began in May 2010 as a result of SECS’ concern over possible health hazards resulting from coal ash disposal.
